Quality of Education
Our Local Governing Body focus for our monitoring the Quality of the Education provided to our children across all three schools, is aligned to the School Evaluation Form (SEF) and School Development Plan (SDP). These school documents enable us as governors to focus our monitoring on the school development plan priority areas. Our motto is always ‘So How Do We Know’, which is fundamental in how we carry out our governance role.
We carry out Data Analysis, Learning Walks, Book Looks, Pupil Voice and Class visits to inform our monitoring, as well as ensuring this links into the school’s curriculum plan, subject action plans, moderation and discussions with teachers and the Executive Headteacher. This will continue to be carried out by link governors responsible for monitoring the Quality of Education and feedback to the LGB via monitoring reports and LGB discussions.
Safeguarding and Single Central Record
Our Vice Chair is our Safeguarding Governor and will continue to scrutinise Safeguarding and the Single Central Record. The Trust provides a further check and balance through its external safeguarding audit and consequent action plans.
Health & Safety and Property compliance is monitored by our Community Governor and the Trust provides a further check and balance through its external health and safety audit, action plan and the support of the Trust’s Health and Safety Officer.
Our Incumbent is responsible for SIAMS.
Our Parent Governor monitors the school’s budget to ensure the school us seeking to secure an in year balanced budget. The Trust provides further scrutiny at Trust level on a monthly basis to ensure the schools finances are managed appropriately.
Pupil Premium and Sports Premium
Our Vice Chair monitors the interventions that are put in place, to ensure they have an impact and are value for money.
Executive Headteacher Support and Staff Wellbeing
Our Chair undertakes regular meetings with the Executive Headteacher which will focus on the performance of the school in all areas, wellbeing and ensure the relationship between the LGB and the Headteacher retains the appropriate balance of support and challenge.
We will continue to be proactive and visible in school, with children, parents and the wider community.
Parent surveys will be carried out in the Autumn Term. The Governors will seek to strengthen links with the community.
