is seeking to appoint a

 

SEN Teaching Assistant

Payscale: Scale C (£16,863 - £17,391 per annum/pro rata)

 

DEMAT and The Norman Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support children with SEND. Monday to Friday, afternoon sessions, 11.5 hours per week/39 weeks per year. Required ASAP on a temporary contract, initially for 2 terms.

 

You will have:

  • teaching assistant qualification (ideally)
  • experience of working with early years children in a reception or KS1 setting – ideally with some experience of working with children with SEND
  • an interest in helping children to develop their full potential & a positive learning behaviour
  • the ability to communicate effectively to all members of the school team and collaborate well with others
  • flexibility to adapt duties and responsibilities as per the needs of the pupils in your care
  • experience of working with children with challenging behaviour
  • a positive mind-set that encourages and establishes supportive relationships with children, parents and staff
  • the ability to think on your feet, show initiative and be a team player
