The Diocese of Ely Multi- Academy Trust [DEMAT] is part of the Diocese of Ely and has been established to provide a place for church schools to become academies within an organisation that shares Church School Values.
The Trust was established in 2014 and has grown steadily with schools across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough becoming academy members. As the organisation grows the capacity to support schools is increasing and staff are being appointed to provide the guidance helpful to schools in today’s difficult educational climate.
DEMAT has the following key strategic objectives to support the Trust’s vision and mission:
To ensure that pupils have access to a broad, balanced and extended curriculum, which is underpinned by a firm focus on developing pupils’ literacy and numeracy skills within a supportive learning environment where science, the arts, humanities and sport also feature strongly.
To ensure that leadership and the quality of teaching and learning is good or better in all our schools.
To encourage staff in our schools to be innovative and to work collaboratively where appropriate.
To budget efficiently, to build capacity within the Trust and to deploy our resources effectively for the benefit of pupils, staff and the communities they serve.
To develop a commitment to the aims of the Trust throughout our schools.
